The women's national gymnastics team put on a brilliant performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics. During the Team Finals at the Bercy Arena, Simone Biles, Sunisa "Suni" Lee, Jordan Chiles, Jade Carey, and Hezly Rivera became just the fourth women's team in American history to win gold.

The victory came as no surprise since Team USA dominated the competition in the qualifying round, during which Biles and Lee emerged as the country's top two scorers, clinching their spot in the Women's All-Around Final. While Biles' first-place score of 59.566 was untouchable, Lee edged Chiles out of competing in the all-around by .067 points.

Chiles, who placed fourth overall, was understandably upset after learning the results. The 23-year-old faced backlash online from some viewers for not immediately celebrating her teammate's accomplishment.

One day after winning the team gold, Lee, who won the all-around gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, responded to rumors of a growing rift between the two Team USA stars.

Lee shared a post from Chiles' Instagram Stories and wrote, "Guys we don't even like each other idk why she even posting me ???" And then set the record straight at the bottom, "kidding love u," she wrote with a happy, teary-eyed emoji.

During the Team Finals, Lee and Chiles proudly rooted for each other on every apparatus. While celebrating their gold medal, the two gymnasts hugged and cried like sisters. After the medal ceremony, the duo posted TikTok videos together.

Chiles made it clear her frustration was with the International Gymnastics Federation's rules, not Lee. "The two-per-country rule thing is -- I don’t like it,” she told reporters. However, she was incredibly proud to participate in all four events during the Team Finals.

"Having this opportunity definitely felt really good,” Chiles said. “Being able to be a part of winning this gold medal... it’s just been an amazing experience.”

The Women's Individual All-Around Finals takes place on August 1 at 12:15 p.m. ET.
