Ireland's Kellie Harrington has secured herself another Olympic medal , having made it to the semi-finals. The Dublin-based boxer triumphed over Colombia's Angie Valdas Pana in the Women's 60kg quarter-final in Paris.

The win ensures she'll be bringing home at least a bronze medal to add to her gold from Tokyo three years ago. The talent delivered an outstanding performance , resulting in a unanimous decision in her favour.

She's set to face off against the victor of the quarter-final between Beatriz Ferreira and Chelsey Heijnen in Saturday's semi-final, with a spot in the final up for grabs.

Should Ferreira emerge victorious, it will pave the way for a rematch of the Tokyo final from three years ago. Post-match, Harrington expressed feeling "relaxed" stepping into the ring .

Speaking to RTÉ, she said: "I listened to what the coaches were telling me and it was working. I felt the fight myself and I enjoyed it in there .

"These are the times I need to be enjoying because the boots will be getting hung up soon . I'll actually be doing a couple more national championships but internationally I think I'll be finished, I don't know. At 60 kilos definitely."

The Dubliner becomes the fifth Irish sportsperson to win big at the Paris Olympics . Rower Hannah Scott won gold with Team GB and Daniel Wiffen and Jack McMillan triumphed in their events on Tuesday night.
