Multiple rookies involved in first fight of Dallas Cowboys' 2024 training camp

It's that time of the year! It took the Dallas Cowboys only two days of padded practices to fight on the field on a short-lived scuffle.

The impromptu battle involved a couple of rookies: Undrafted tight end Brevyn Spann-Ford and fifth-round rookie cornerback Caelen Carson.

In the clip above, it appears the scuffle began because of Carson's insistence in attempting to strip the ball from Spann-Ford's hands while making the tackle. Spann-Ford doesn't make it easy on him and at that point, undrafted rookie Emany Johnson (safety wearing No. 39) joins the action with a relatively late - but legal - hit.

Several offensive and defensive players answer the calling and make a pile over the ballcarrier. In the background, second-year John Stephens Jr. makes sure to block rookie LB Brock Mogensen despite the play being over.

I get why coaches are not a fan of it but these scuffles are as inevitable as Thanos himself. And I'll be honest: Most football fans absolutely love them as this time of the year players on the field are competing for a spot on the team.

According to Nick Harris from DallasCowboys.com , Wednesday's practice was pretty intense as many rookies were fired up for action: "Tyler Guyton and Byron Vaughns banged helmets and exchanged some words earlier. Israel Mukuamu has been chatting. Peyton Hendershot and Julius Wood were also getting spirited. High intensity day today involving a lot of rookies."
