Meow Wolf, the arts production company known for creating “immersive multimedia experiences,” including Denver’s Convergence Station, is now bringing a new “mind-bending” experience to burritos.

Meow Wolf has joined forces with Colorado-based companies Illegal Pete’s and Colorado Tortilla Co. to introduce the “Portilla” (Spanish for little portal). The moniker is being used for limited edition tie-dye-colored tortillas which will be used in a variety of dishes at Illegal Pete’s locations, including burritos, tacos, and quesadillas.

The colorful tortillas will be offered for a limited time during the month of August, featuring dyes which are “all-natural” according to a press release.

"We're psyched for this collaboration because it was a true creative partnership where we made something together just for fun," Pete Turner, founder of Illegal Pete's, said in a news release. "We can't wait for our customers to experience the Portilla and the entire campaign all month long."

To order the special burritos, customers will simply ask to have their order "Meow Wolfed."

“We’re honored to partner with Illegal Pete’s, a company that represents Colorado and supports the arts here,” Shannon Slack, marketing producer at Meow Wolf, said in the release. “Meow Wolf and Illegal Pete’s share similar ethos in our commitment to community and creativity. This creative partnership was a way to solidify our mutual dedication to sparking joy and have some fun doing it.”

To promote the partnership, the two brands created a video ad entitled “Memoritos,” which will play in-store throughout the duration of the partnership. Additionally, the collaboration includes a merchandise drop, including limited edition stickers and t-shirts.

Illegal Pete’s currently operates at 15 locations, 13 in Colorado and two in Arizona. According to Meow Wolf, the “Portilla” will be served at all Illegal Pete’s locations, including the recently opened Colorado Springs location, and the University of Denver location, which re-opened in late May after extensive renovations.
