The Las Vegas Raiders held their second padded practice of training camp on Wednesday and their sixth practice overall — and it was just the latest chapter of the Raiders' quarterback competition.

Gardner Minshew got most of the first-team reps on Wednesday after Aidan O'Connell received most of them on Tuesday. According to Vic Tafur of the Athletic, Minshew had a better practice than O'Connell.

However, the second-year signal caller did get hampered by some drops. Tafur also stated that O'Connell had a "high-arching" 30-yard touchdown pass to DJ Turner, which was the best pass of the day.

Las Vegas' offense has struggled so far in camp, as the quarterbacks have had some turnovers, and the offensive line has been dominated. According to Levi Damien of Raiders Wire, the Raiders' offense put together its best practice of training camp on Wednesday, though the bar isn't set very high.

Levi Edwards of Raiders.com echoed Damien's sentiments on the offense, but also noted that the defense still won the day.

Wednesday's practice was a step in the right direction for Minshew and O'Connell, as the duo had efficient days and didn't put the ball in harm's way. Though neither signal-caller has separated themselves from the other, the pair is trending in the right direction.
