The high school football season is just around the corner and there are several big-time players to keep an eye on from each side of the river this fall.

Next, The Enquirer will take a look at some familiar faces in new places who could make a difference on the area gridiron in 2024. Here are 10 high-impact transfers to look out for this season.

    Jayden Egbert, Anderson

Egbert was a first-team All-Miami Valley Conference and second-team all-district selection on the Purcell Marian defensive line last season.

Egbert registered 65 tackles, 9 sacks and 4 tackles for loss last season to go with a pair of forced fumbles and one recovery. He picked up his first Division I offer from Bucknell in May.

    Vincent Giordano, Lakota West

One of the top offensive linemen in Greater Cincinnati heading into the 2024 season, Giordano transferred to Lakota West from Fenwick. Giordano was listed as a tight end and defensive lineman last season, but recruiting services are touting the 6-foot-5, 250-pound two-star recruit as an offensive tackle.

He committed to Bowling Green in June and is the No. 135 player in Ohio for the Class of 2025.

    Jayel Harris, Withrow

A Purcell Marian transfer, Harris put up huge numbers last season to help lead the Cavaliers to the Division V regional semifinals. Harris finished the year with an MVC-best 2,109 rushing yards and 29 rushing touchdowns.

The first-team All-Ohio selection in Division V is committed to Central Michigan University.

    Cameron Hunter, Mason

A second-team All-Greater Catholic League-Coed selection last season at Fenwick, Hunter joins the Comets after a 50-tackle season.

Hunter added 5 tackles for loss, forced a pair of fumbles and intercepted a pass last year for the Falcons.

    Camden Pawlick, Moeller

Pawlick was added to the Moeller Crusaders from Saline High School in Michigan, where he played offensive and defensive line. He was a first-team all-region selection last season for the Hornets and has multiple collegiate offers.

    Jayonn Saunders, Anderson

A Purcell Marian transfer, Saunders joins a formidable Anderson secondary after setting the Cavaliers' program record with 19 career prep interceptions over the last three seasons.

Saunders had nine interceptions last season en route to Division V District Player of the Year and first-team All-Ohio honors.

    Derrick Singletary, Middletown

Another Fenwick transfer, Singletary was a second-team all-district selection in 2023 after recording 65 total tackles, including eight for a loss to go with one sack.

Singletary holds offers from Toledo, Kentucky, Eastern Michigan, Eastern Kentucky and Ball State heading into his junior season.

    Durrell Turner, Anderson

Turner is one of Anderson's many key additions in 2024 and should put up big-time numbers for a program that annually lights up the scoreboard. Last season at Simon Kenton, Turner led all of Class 6A in rushing yards (27th in the state) with 1,401 to go with 13 rushing scores.

He was voted by Cincinnati Enquirer readers as the top running back in Greater Cincinnati heading into 2024.

    Jordann Vann, Middletown

Last season at Fenwick, Vann ran for a team-high 542 yards and 11 touchdowns before transferring to the Middies to compete in the Greater Miami Conference. A starter during his first two varsity seasons, Vann combined for nearly 1,200 scrimmage yards and 17 touchdowns in that span.

Vann was named second-team all-district last season and has nine Division I offers, including from Kentucky, Kansas, Duke and Marshall.

    Greg Williams, Princeton

Playing on a winless Colerain club last season, Williams was one of two Cardinals to be named first-team all-conference in addition to second-team all-district honors in Division I. From his linebacker spot, Williams had a team-high 72 tackles along with 3 forced fumbles, a pair of recoveries and an interception.

Williams was also Colerain's leading rusher with 412 yards on the ground and four touchdowns. He holds offers from Akron, Marshall, Miami Ohio, Charlotte and Western Michigan.
