U.S. snowboarder Jamie Anderson confessed that the dating app Tinder takes on a "next level" status during the Olympics. The 33-year-old from California revealed that back in 2014, the swiping activity in the Olympic village was so intense that she had to delete her account to focus on winning gold.

Tinder is a popular dating app where users can browse potential matches in their local area, swiping right to express interest and left if there's no spark. If both parties swipe right, they're notified of a match, allowing them to chat and potentially arrange a date.

Due to its nature, the app can be quite addictive, something Anderson admitted to experiencing. Speaking to US Weekly, she said: "Tinder in the Olympic Village is next level. It's all athletes! In the mountain village it's all athletes. It's hilarious. There are some cuties here."

However, she also acknowledged the app's potential for distraction, saying: "There was a point where I had to be like, OK, this is way too distracting," before adding: "I deleted my account to focus on the Olympics ."

After stepping away from social media to fine-tune her athletic prowess, Anderson soared to victory, securing her first gold in the women's slopestyle event in Russia. Not only that, but she also scored consecutive gold at the Pyeongchang games in 2018 and a silver in the Big Air competition, showcasing her monumental aerial skills.

Anderson's trophy cabinet is also adorned with seven gold medals from the Winter X Games slopestyle competitions, and she proudly holds both bronze and silver from the World Championships. It seems love didn't need any online help either.

She met fellow snowboarder Tyler Nicholson in a bar in Whistler, British Columbia in 2015 and the couple got engaged in January 2022. Anderson announced their engagement displaying a photo of Nicholson grinning as he held her hand, adorned with an engagement ring.

"Yes, of course! I love you so much Tyler! You are my rock, my best friend, my adventure and life partner. I adore every aspect of you and feel so grateful to be each others best friend! What I love about our partnership is that we are willing to work through the challenging and darker times to rise above to the lighter vibrations and in doing so, we are a stronger team! I'm so excited to be your wifey!"
