Tons of engagements happen in the summertime, not because they want to get married now, but because they want to get married next summer. Planning a wedding takes time, energy, and a ton of courage.

One bride-to-be's mom was being informed of her daughter's new engagement, but she may not have even known that. More important than the news, apparently, was the way her cat was doing something cute. You can decide for yourself if she was right or not:

Scar Lit's mom is doing exactly what I would do, to be honest. You can tell me in a second. Cats only do cute stuff for a second! They have a shorter attention span than you!

Scar's mom loves her cats. Of course, Scar doesn't mind; they're her sisters, after all! She might as well make them bridesmaids. Everyone involved in this moment as it was happening took it in a funny, lighthearted way, and she did get to have her moment after that!

It looks like the bride-to-be and her groom travel a lot, so they have yet to get a pet. They have to live vicariously through her mom, and she's just doing her job. Once the camera comes off the cat, mom is really happy for them. Let's be honest: anything we can use to tease our moms is always appreciated. Thanks for this one, mom!

How to Include Cats in Your Wedding

When we think about including pets in weddings, it's almost always dogs that come to mine first. They's the "easiest" to include, since they're easier to train and often big enough to avoid getting lost in the crowd. They're also less polarizing: everyone can concede that dogs are cute, but some people seriously just hate cats.

It's your big day. If you want to have your cat at your wedding wearing a little tux or tutu, you go right ahead. However, you should include the fact that there will be a cat there on your announcements/invitations. If you want to include your cat in the festivities in a subtler way, you could:

    1. Have specialty cocktails named after them.
    2. Include a little cat cake topper.
    3. Have "cat-friendly bouquets" on the tables.
    4. Put a trail of little cat paw prints going down the aisle.
    5. Depending on your budget, you could have cat-shaped topiaries!

Bringing your pet to your wedding, no matter the species, creates another layer of stress, just like having your toddler at your wedding would. It might even stress out the cat. Of course, if Scar and her fiancé wanted to include this cat in their wedding, this video shows that they could trust mom to keep an eye on her!
