‘Just a quick no?’ Kay Adams asks Aaron Rodgers as Jets QB claims her in-game idea ‘would be a little weird’

AARON Rodgers appears to be considering giving an autographed ball to an opponent when the new NFL season kicks off.

San Francisco 49ers star Charvarius Ward has said he’d love to an autographed ball from Rodgers if he picks up an interception from him in the week one meeting with the New York Jets .

Rodgers , 40, was asked about it by Kay Adams this week and he initially said, “No” flat out.

But a short while later, he seemed to backtrack on that.

“I don’t know, that would be a little weird,” he said.

“You know what, I’d probably do it.

“If I was a fifth or sixth week player, I’d probably say, get the hell out of here.

“But now in my old age and maturity, maybe I’d sign it for him.”

Cornerback Ward was on the Up & Adams show in May when he spoke of a wish to receive an autographed ball from Rodgers.

“Hopefully, Aaron Rodgers throws me one. That’s a Hall of Famer. That’s a legend,” Ward said.

“I’m trying to pick him off and then have him sign the ball for me.”

The attention on Week One of the NFL season is always huge.

But there will be something extra riding on the Monday Night Football game between the Jets and 49ers on September 9th after what happened a year ago.

The hype over Rodgers making his Jets debut was enormous in the fall of 2023, after his switch from the Green Bay Packers.

Rodgers had established himself as an all-time great of the sport after nearly two decades with the Packers.

But it all went so horribly wrong in the meeting with the Buffalo Bills at MetLife Stadium.

Rodgers injured his left ankle on just his fourth offensive snap after being sacked by Bills’ defensive end Leonard Floyd.

With this season’s schedule now revealed, eager NFL fans are looking to secure tickets to their favorite games.

You can start buying tickets for some games on several sites now:

Before purchasing tickets on resale websites check pricing as they are third-party sellers and, importantly, the cost can vary depending on demand. You may pay more than an official ticket, though you can also get good last-minute deals too.

But if you can’t be there in person, don’t worry, there’s still time to set up your stream before the season starts.

The following day, Rodgers was diagnosed with an Achilles tendon rupture.

He ended up missing the whole campaign, as the Jets went 7-10 in the regular season.

As for Ward and the 49ers, they’ll be hoping to go one step further after another agonising near miss last season.

The 49ers were leading February’s Super Bowl against the Kansas City Chiefs at halftime.

But the Chiefs fought back to win 25-22 in overtime in Las Vegas, leaving the 49ers and their fans heartbroken.
