Sometimes the mere thought of food is enough to quell your hunger, and other times it feels like seeing food without getting any is a cruel trick. Dakar the Black Labrador is dreaming of bacon after seeing it on TV, but he can't quite get to it, no matter how hard he tries!

In a hilarious TikTok video shared by @labidakar , the hungry pup just wants to get to the bacon somehow, someway. Take a look!

In the video captioned, "Pomarzyć można, prawda?"—which means "one can dream, right?"—Dakar, the "Black Lab with a big heart, tries with all his might to get a little taste of the bacon sizzling on the TV screen. A few licks here, a couple chomps there before he (sort of) realizes he's not getting anywhere. Hey, a guy can try, right?

Of the video's more than 3.5 million likes and more than 11,500 comments, many of Dakar's supportive fans totally get where he's coming from. Bacon is delicious and good boys deserve delicious things!

"So I'm not the only one like this," one person joked. "He was embarrassed after he smelled it and realized it wasn’t real," another wrote. "When I’m on a diet," another added in jest.

Dakar is so relatable for this, we hope he got a treat soon after for his troubles!

How Much Bacon Is Safe for Your Dog?

Poor Dakar didn't get to taste the food of his dreams, but many dogs enjoy a little salty meat treat every now and then. According to First Vet, dogs can eat a small amount of bacon , but there are reasons they shouldn't ingest too much.

Bacon contains high amounts of fat, which can lead to obesity. It can trigger pancreatitis that can come on quickly and sometimes lead to fatal outcomes. And the high sodium content makes it a dangerous choice in large quantities, leading to kidney and heart failure.

Though bacon isn't something veterinarians generally recommend, we know those big, sad dog eyes can convince you to give your pup just about anything, so do so with an abundance of caution. A small piece here and there shouldn't be cause for concern unless they're sensitive to fat and salt. In that case, avoid altogether and offer them a healthier, albeit boring (!), option.

Listen, we get it! Bacon is universally coveted and Dakar is so real for trying to sneak a taste—even if it's out of reach. Maybe next time, buddy.
