Super Bowl champion QB. Four-time MVP. Destroyer of worlds?

Aaron Rodgers, who was affectionately nicknamed the "Oppenheimer of football" by New York Jets teammate Tyler Conklin, has weighed in on his new label.

Speaking to "Up & Adams" host Kay Adams at Jets training camp, the 40-year-old signal-caller acknowledged Conklin's analogy may have missed the mark.

"No, I told him I don't think it was a good thing, because didn't one of the famous Oppenheimer quotes say something about how 'I am now the destroyer of worlds?'" Rodgers asked.

Adams replied, "When I think Aaron Rodgers, I think 'I am now the destroyer of worlds.'"

"Yeah, that's terrible. That's terrible," Rodgers said with a chuckle.

Conklin's original comments were about "trying to see the game through Aaron's eyes," referring to his ability to process information quickly and make decisions.

Jets fans only caught a glimpse of those Hall of Fame traits for 4 regular season snaps in 2023 before a torn Achilles sent the season into a 7-10 tailspin.

Rodgers' first chance for game action in 2024 will come during the Jets' first preseason game against the Washington Commanders on Saturday, August 10. However, head coach Robert Saleh told reporters on July 30 that his "instinct" is Rodgers won't see any preseason action this year.
