The injury bug has already hit the Los Angeles Chargers just after the start of training camp.

Superstar quarterback Justin Herbert is out for the preseason due to plantar fascia in his right foot. He should be ready to go by Week 1 against the Las Vegas Raiders, although the signal-caller missing time is not good news, especially with a revamped offense and new coaching staff in place.

Nonetheless, new Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh wasn't the least bit concerned with Herbert's injury, per Chargers reporter Eric Smith.

"Full steam ahead," Harbaugh said. "The preparation, the work continues. He's not on the field in practice but [the] meeting room...He's still in a training environment that chemistry, that rapport that you build with those position players, his teammates, that continues."

Jun 13, 2024; Costa Mesa, CA, USA; Los Angeles Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh joins hands in a huddle with tight end Donald Parham Jr. (89), running back J.K. Dobbins (27), quarterback Justin Herbert (10) and receiver Ladd McConkey (15) during minicamp at the Hoag Performance Center.

Herbert has already made a strong connection with many of the new faces, including rookie wide receiver Ladd McConkey.

Herbert was even working out with McConkey just hours after the injury was announced, so there are no worries about his relationship with his teammates.

Herbert is expected to be in a boot for two weeks and then be able to work towards a return to the field, so playing Week 1 looks optimistic for the Oregon product.

So, while fans might be concerned, Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh isn't the least bit worried about his superstar signal-caller.
