Coming SOON.
Today, bluegrass extraordinaire Billy Strings announced a new album called Highway Prayers, which is slated to drop on September 27th.
He shared the news in a post on Instagram, which features a lot of imagery with cars and car-related concepts, so it could possibly be even some sort of concept album, or at least heavily centered on cars and the open road.
Strings also put out the lead single called “Leadfoot,” and the tracklist features other songs like “Seven Weeks In County,” “Cabin Song,” and one he’s played at a live show before that I absolutely love called “Richard Petty,” of course named for the iconic NASCAR driver.
And if “Cabin Song” sounds familiar to you, it’s because it was already released as part of The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes soundtrack.
Billy Strings put out a live album earlier this year, and a collaborative record with his father called Me/And/Dad in 2022, but this will be the first full-lengthy studio album we’ve gotten from him since 2021 when he released his Grammy-nominated album, Renewal.
And soon, we’ll get to hear the song he’s featured on for Post Malone’s new country album F-1 Trillion called “M-E-X-I-C-O.”
Of course, he’s one of most talented musicians alive right now, so it’s sure to be another incredible release, and coming in at 20 songs, should be full of amazing music and tons of his signature guitar work.
