Jets Trading For Davante Adams Would Turn NFL Upside Down

As the New York Jets prepare for their first preseason game, the team is still likely trying to figure out ways to improve. The franchise clearly has an “all-in” mindset as of now with Aaron Rodgers under center, and as long as he is healthy, they have a chance to contend.

This offseason, the Jets made a lot of moves to hopefully help improve the roster, as while the quarterback position was an issue last season, there were also problems on the offensive line and at skill positions like wide receiver.

The Jets have done what appears to be a good job addressing those issues, but they might not be done.

There have been plenty of rumors since Rodgers joined New York about a possible reunion with former Green Bay Packers teammate Davante Adams. Since the Las Vegas Raiders are likely going to struggle this season, moving Adams is certainly in the cards.

Recently, Bleacher Report spoke about Jets trading for Adams being a move that could turn the league upside down.

Here’s what they had to say.

“The Jets are already a potential Super Bowl LIX contender, and adding one of the best receivers in the game would only increase those odds. Rodgers and Adams were, arguably, the NFL’s top duo when they last played together in 2020 and 2021, connecting 238 times for 2,927 yards and 29 touchdowns during that timeframe.

Davante Adams would make the Jets incredibly dangerous

Combine that with a Jets defense that has ranked fourth and third in yards allowed over the last two years, and the Kansas City Chiefs would have a significant threat to their crown.”

As one of the top receivers in the league, Adams would make an instant impact for the Jets on offense. With Garrett Wilson heading into his third season and on the cusp on becoming a superstar himself, the Jets would have an electric combination at wide receiver.

There is no doubting that the Jets have a defense that can win a Super Bowl. However, the real question marks lie on offense. While Rodgers is coming back, it’s impossible to know how he will play after missing an entire season at his age. That being said, if he looks close to the Rodgers we are used to, the Jets should go all in to try and win with him this year.

Davante Adams getting moved at some point this season wouldn’t be all that surprising, and if he goes to the Jets, they would be a true threat to the Chiefs in the AFC.
