The debut album is finally here.
Sometimes, it’s hard to wrap your head around someone like Ella Langley, who has made such a name for herself over the last two years and is just now putting out her debut album. But wow, the time she put into this project is so apparent because it’s stellar. Fans have been begging for a more extended project since the release of her EP Excuse The Mess. Langley heard the cries and did not hold back with her debut record, Hungover.
“My debut record ‘Hungover’ is out now. It’s been 5 years in the making & I’ve put my heart and soul into this project. It’s all yours now & I couldn’t be more excited to share it with you.”
Throughout the remainder of the fourteen-track album, Langley shines as she wears her heart on her sleeve, delivering lyrics about heartbreak, the harsh realities of growing up, falling in love, and some good classic boot-stompin’ country songs. Langley noted with the announcement of this project that outgrowing people or certain phases of life can leave you feeling dull and in pain, similar to a hangover.
“Turning the page. True love. Growing out of the person you were into the person you are now. Growth is painful, growth is hard, it is beautiful, and it can leave you feeling hungover.”
She also added:
“Releasing my debut album has been my dream for my whole entire life, and I’m so proud of it. These songs are all like diary entries for me. They’re all so real and honest, and I feel more ‘me’ than ever on this record. I really wanted to create music that feels new and different and tells stories, and I hope these songs reach whoever needs to hear them.”
Through tracks like “Love You Tonight,” “Monsters,” and “People Change,” she perfectly captures that feeling of the hardships you face as you grow into the person facing you in a mirror.
Langley was already proving that she is a force to be reckoned with, and this debut album solidifies that statement. She is a powerhouse vocalist who knows how to captivate her audience and can portray raw emotions through her lyrics. This combination makes her a country music superstar in the making.
Fire up some of our early favorites.
