When we see big dogs with Bully faces and broad shoulders, it's easy to get intimidated. They can look a little scary, and that's okay! That's part of what they were bred for.

However, when you get to know them, Bully breeds are just as sweet and loving as every other dog breed. They're fiercely loyal, sassy as can be, and they're always curious to try new things. Recently, one big Bully boy got to meet a couple baby ducks playing in a kiddie pool, and it was everything he ever dreamed of:

Cowgirl Brittany has the sweetest bunch of pets on the planet. As these ducklings grow into fine young ducks, I just know he'll be with them the whole way!

Brittany lives on a pretty decent-sized farm . She has horses, chickens, ducks, and a couple of dogs, including this big guy and a Boxer. All of her animals get along great, and she loves to show off their amazing relationships on TikTok. Recently, her little ducklings got a kiddie pool to swim in, and her big dog has been very curious as he watches them swim!

This is most likely not the first batch of ducklings he's been around: he has been trained to be gentle around them and various other baby animals on the farm. Even still, their farm mom is right there no matter what!

Should I Let My Dog Play With Farm Animals?

Owning a farm is not easy. There are billions of moving parts to manage, and adding in even more might seem like too much to handle.

Many farms, especially bigger ones or farms that have a lot of animals, typically have a few dogs working. These are livestock guardians or herding dogs who live outside with the farm animals, and they develop bonds with them. They have to! Otherwise, they wouldn't be able to protect them.

However, you might also have an "inside dog" that you'd like to include in your farm life, and that's okay, too! If you want to introduce your pet dog to your farm animals, you should:

    1. Try to introduce them when the dog is just a puppy, so they can get used to them early.
    2. Keep your pup on a leash around the animals.
    3. Practice socialization with a few farm animals at a time. Start with the bigger ones and move to the smaller ones!
    4. No matter how well-trained your pup is, never let them around your other animals if you're not supervising.

This sweet boy and his duckies are going to grow up to be besties for life. I can't wait to see more of them!
