Kyren Williams Has Top 5 RB Upside In 2024

Kyren Williams was one of the biggest surprises of the 2023 NFL season; he went from an RB88 finish in 2022 to an RB6 finish in 2023 half PPR leagues. When healthy, Williams had 9 RB1 finishes and never finished below RB31. From weeks 1-6 he averaged 18 touches a game with 83% of the snaps, during 12 to 17 he averaged 25 touches a game and right around 83% of the snaps.

When he was healthy, he was on the field getting a majority of the work in an explosive offense that was winning games. When Williams was out, the Rams lost three games in a row, scoring only 40 points during that stretch. He came back, and the Rams went 6-1, averaging 31 points a game. Sean McVay is as intelligent as they come; he knows that offense is at its best when Williams is utilized heavily. The Rams significantly upgraded their offensive line by bringing in guard Jonah Jackson, who could only help Williams.

Blake Corum was drafted in the third round, but that should not scare fantasy managers away from drafting Kyren. Corum could be the future, but Kyren has McVay’s trust now, and that could lead to fantasy championships. His ADP is the 38th player off of the board in dynasty superflex leagues. Getting Williams in the second round in one QB league could be a massive steal. Williams may shine very bright, but how long it lasts can be questioned with his 5’9 202 pound frame.

Our consensus projections for Williams in the 2024 season are 259 carries for 1,297 yards and 6 touchdowns. In the receiving game, his consensus projection is 42 receptions for 334 yards and 3 touchdowns.
