    In the wake of former President Donald Trump’s lies about a stolen election in 2020, more than half of U.S. state legislatures implemented new laws restricting voters' access to the polls. The laws are often part of sweeping bills − mostly from Republican-led legislatures − targeting multiple parts of the process, including absentee voting, early voting, and Election Day voting.
