Nick Chubb is often regarded as one of the most talented running backs in the NFL today, and normally, he would be ranked as a Top 5 running back. Well, that unfortunately won't be the case, as Chubb suffered a brutal knee injury where he tore his ACL and MCL. This was also the same knee that he injured in 2015.
Chubb is still not practicing and has even admitted to being behind in his recovery. This is not a good sign at all, and this injury makes him a high-risk selection in any fantasy league. Jerome Ford emerged as a really dependable running back last season, and the team even added D’onta Foreman and Nyheim Hines to the roster.
When healthy, Chubb is a beast of a running back, but will he be the same player he was, and will he even play a game this season? If you want to use a draft pick on Chubb as a stash option, it could be worth the gamble. When healthy after his rookie year, Chubb has yet to finish lower than RB13 overall in half-ppr. He could be a league winner if he is healthy late in the season.
Our consensus projections for Chubb in the 2024 season are 152 carries for 742 yards and 5 rushing touchdowns. As well as 22 receptions, 168 yards, and 1 touchdown.
