Well, folks, I’m back from an epic week-long surf trip. I caught more than a few 15-foot swells, and if the cameras were rolling, you definitely would’ve mistaken me for John John Florence. Just kidding. I sat on the beach, watched my friends surf some mediocre waves, and got a bunch of bug bites on my feet. When it comes to watersports, I’m more of a sidelines guy.

Hunting down clips is a different story, though. This is my element. Like a deranged, post-modern vinyl collector, I’ve once again trawled the algorithmic depths to find a few ski videos actually worth watching amidst all the TikTok dances. Here’s a collection of proper content you might’ve missed this week.

Mikkel Brusletto Kaupang Is Officially From Another Planet

Skiing is over-saturated. Everything worth watching has already been done before. Or so they say. Mikkel Brusletto Kaupang’s latest clip haul is a metaphorical middle finger to that train of thought. All the videos in this series are worth watching, but I—and probably you—will have a hard time forgetting about Brusletto Kaupang’s first hit. There’s a certain weightlessness and ease to his skiing that doesn’t totally make sense.

    Anni Kärävä Goes for Nine

In a world of so-fast-you’ll-miss-it doubles and triples, sometimes the soul needs a single executed perfectly, like this switch nine blunt from Anni Kärävä. The snow-blown, otherworldly look of the ski resort where this was shot only adds to the appeal. If more night skiing from Kärävä sounds like your jam, give Midnight Blue a look.

    Chris McCormick Delivers Down Under

While we North American folk are worrying about sunburns and wildfires, the ski season is well underway in Australia, where Chris McCormick recently put on quite the show at Perisher. Just about everything the pros do these days is absurd, but inverts and rails remain atop the list of things you couldn’t pay me to try. Biffing it on a jump is one thing, but over rotating with a hunk of metal below you? I’m good, but I’m glad McCormick isn’t. Someone’s gotta show those rails who’s boss.

    Simeon Glas’ Summer Blowout

This time of year, Timberline Lodge, Oregon, is one of the few places in North America to get your kicks if you want to hit rails and jumps on skis. Unsurprisingly, the resort’s holdout status draws a crowd of talented freeskiers each summer, Simeon Glas among them. In this quick edit, he throws flips and spins alongside a dash of rail wizardry—it’s got it all.

    Joona Kangas Goes to Woodward

Speaking of places to get jibby in the summer, Woodward Copper is another spot that holds snow during the warmer months. And who better to give us a tour than Joona Kangas?
