Los Angeles Chargers Fans Won’t Like This 2024 Prediction

After an awful 2023 campaign, the Los Angeles Chargers have seen undergone major changes this offseason. Brandon Staley was fired as the head coach of the franchise, and the Chargers made a big splash by hiring Jim Harbaugh.

Harbaugh is coming off winning a National Championship with Michigan, and after having a ton of success as the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, he is eager to be back in the NFL. While adding Harbaugh is certainly a coaching upgrade, the Chargers’ roster also saw a lot of changes, most of which aren’t for the better.

Going into 2024, the Chargers look like a team that is closer to a rebuild than a playoff berth, but with an over-under win total of 8.5, sportsbooks really believe in the combination of Harbaugh and Justin Herbert.

Recently, Bleacher Report spoke about a few teams that are likely to disappoint in 2024. The Chargers unfortunately made their list.

Here’s what they had to say about Los Angeles .

“Even if Herbert’s health is fine, he is missing out on important training camp time with his supporting cast. The Chargers let go of Mike Williams and traded Keenan Allen, leaving Herbert to work with a receiver group of DJ Chark, Joshua Palmer, Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston.

On defense, they are still planning to put a lot on the veteran duo of Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack. Bosa has only played in 14 games over the last two seasons while Mack could fall off a production cliff at 33 years old.

This could be a longer rebuild project than some anticipated when the Chargers hired Harbaugh.”

Justin Herbert’s health could severely impact Chargers

Herbert missing some time with a foot issue already is something that should be slightly concerning for the Chargers this offseason. A lot of their potential success this season is dependent upon Harbaugh and Herbert building a strong connection and Harbaugh getting the most out of the talented quarterback.

However, with a new system in place and a completely new wide receiver corps, Herbert missing time is far from ideal. Hopefully, he will be able to get back on the field soon, as if Herbert struggles or is sidelined, the Chargers could be one of the worst teams in the league this coming season.

While the AFC West isn’t a strong division, the Chargers being a disappointment this season seems more likely than them contending for a playoff spot. However, if Herbert can elevate his teammates, he has shown the capability of being a top tier quarterback.
