Tua Tagovailoa Sends Harsh Warning to Dolphins Teammates Ahead of 2024

The Miami Dolphins' time as beloved NFL darlings is over. After a disappointing finish to an otherwise stellar 2023 season, franchise quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is going to new lengths to ensure the Dolphins hold each other accountable going forward.

During Saturday's media availability after training camp, Tagovailoa insisted he and other leaders in Miami's locker room will be taking a much more direct approach to constructive criticism in 2024.

“If somebody slips up—on this team, this year, you best know you’re getting called out," he said, per Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.

The Dolphins went 11-6 last season, losing steam entering the playoffs by going 2-3 over their last five games. The Kansas City Chiefs then dominated Miami in an absolutely frigid Wild Card game at Arrowhead Stadium, ending the team's already fading dreams of a Super Bowl.

Tagovailoa and the Dolphins have been in the headlines recently.

He signed a four-year, $212.4 million extension in late July, among the most lavish contracts in NFL history. Superstar wideout Tyreek Hill, meanwhile, was just voted the best overall player in football by his playing peers.

Clearly, Miami has enough talent to challenge the Chiefs and other annual contenders at the top of the AFC. We'll start to find out next month whether their altered approach to leadership, spearheaded by Tagovailoa, can help the Dolphins reach those heights this season.
