Nearly 20 different vegetable products affected by listeria have been recalled from Walmart and Aldi supermarkets this week .

The US FDA announced that Ohio-based Weirs Farm Inc. is recalling produce that is sold at Walmart , Aldi and a number of other supermarkets across the country .

The announcement comes after an initial recall of cucumbers on July 12, after the farm announced that they may be contaminated with listeria.

Weirs Farm are saying the more recent recall is “out of abundance of caution.” The additional recalled vegetables are:

    Packaged poblano

    Cubanelle

    Green beans

    Cucumbers

    Jalapeños

    Bell peppers

    Yellow squash

    Zucchini

    Anaheim peppers

    Cilantro

    Habanero peppers

    Hungarian wax peppers

    Mustard greens

    Parsley

    Serrano peppers

    Tomatillos

The recall also includes a number of food products that were made using the potentially deadly vegetables, like fresh guacamole and salsa, and a range of pre-prepared vegetable combos.

Earlier this week, Boars Head, a company known for producing deli meats, recalled over 70 products that were also suspected of being contaminated with listeria. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have identified at least 34 people in 13 different states who became ill from the outbreak and have confirmed two deaths as a result of consuming the meats.
