Fans React to Sha'Carri Richardson Winning Medal in First Olympic Games

Her Olympic debut was delayed a few years because of a controversial suspension in the 2021 Games, but once she got on the big stage, Sha'Carri Richardson did not disappoint.

On Saturday afternoon, Richardson won the silver medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics in the 100m final, running a 10.87 to secure her first-ever Olympic Medal. St. Lucia sprinter Julien Alfred blew away the rest of the competition, running a 10.72 to win gold — the second-fastest time in the world this year behind only Richardson's 10.71 from earlier in the spring.

Team USA's Melissa Jefferson won the bronze medal with a time of 10.92.

Richardson was expected to be a force during the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo, but she was suspended before the games because of a positive THC drug test, forcing her to delay her Olympics debut.

Coming into the 2024 Paris Games, Richardson was among the most intriguing athletes to watch perform. She will leave as an Olympic medalist at long last.
