After winning her third gold medal at the Paris Olympics, gymnast Simone Biles cast an eye toward her future in the sport.

There has long been speculation over whether the 27-year-old could retire after this year's Summer Games, but Biles has not been definitive about her future plans. After taking home a gold medal in the vault competition on August 3, Biles hinted that she might come back for another trip to the Olympics.

"Never say never," Biles said, via reporter Emily Giambalvo on X .

Biles had already won a gold medal in this year's team competition and another when she defeated Brazil's Rebeca Andrade in the all-around final, then won her third in Saturday's vault competition.

Biles won by pulling off her namesake, the Yurchenko double pike, known as the "Biles II" as it is one of two elements named after her in the vault. She earned a score of 15.700 for that vault and a 14.900 on her second, earning a 15.300 average and winning gold.

The gymnast said afterward that she could consider coming back to the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028, when she would be 31 years old. But Biles admitted that is still a long way off.

"The next Olympics is at home, so you just never know. But I am getting really old," Biles said.
