The Miami Dolphins and Tyreek Hill recently agreed to a three-year $90 million contract extension. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that " no new years were added to the deal." However, Hill has now piled up a whopping $106.5 million in total guaranteed money with Miami.
Hill currently holds the most guaranteed money for any wide receiver in league history. The Dolphins star is paid handsomely well for his efforts on the gridiron. With that said Hill couldn't help but share a perfect four-word reaction to his new contract extension. It's safe to say, Miami has a superstar wide receiver for the long haul .
Hill and the Dolphins have been a match made in heaven ever since the organization hired Mike McDaniel as head coach. McDaniel, who is known as an play-calling genius, has dialed up numerous electric plays for the speedy wide receiver.
The upcoming season will be Hill's third with the Dolphins and he's set to have another big year. He's been the top wideout for the franchise and should continue doing so moving forward. Last season, Hill recorded an impressive 1,799 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns off of 119 receptions.
At 5-10, 191 pounds, Hill has utilized speed as his best weapon in the NFL. This offseason, the veteran wide receiver was named the No. 1 ranked player in the league amongst his peers on the NFL's Top 100 list for the 2023 season.
Expectations are high in Miami after the Dolphins failed to make a deep playoff run after being eliminated by the Chiefs in the Wild Card round. It was a disappointing end for this organization and the franchise hopes to go on a much deeper run next year.
Miami made some notable moves this offseason to improve their chances. While maintaining the core of the roster, the front office made sure to acquire help on the defensive side of the ball to balance out the team.
The Dolphins biggest acquisitions include cornerback Kendall Fuller, linebacker Jordyn Brooks, safety Jordan Poyer, and outside linebacker Shaquil Barrett. Miami also signed Odell Beckham Jr. and center Aaron Brewer this offseason to strengthen the offense.
With that said the AFC East should be one of the more entertaining divisions in the league this season. Not only are the Dolphins looking like a prime Super Bowl candidate, but the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills will make plenty of noise as well. Meanwhile, the New England Patriots have made strides to improve the roster in their post-Bill Belichick era.
