Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese is back at the practice facility, preparing for the second half of the 2024 WNBA season. While Reesee and the Sky work toward the final leg of the season, the Paris Olympics are underway.
One of the biggest stars representing the United States in the Olympics is track and field sprinter Sha'Carri Richardson.
Richardson competed in the 100m semifinal on Saturday. She earned a silver medal in the event, with a final time of 10.87 seconds, just behind the gold medal winner, Julien Alfred of Saint Lucia, at 10.72 seconds.
Many athletes have praised the American sprinter online, but Reese's comments stood out as she sent Sha'Carri Richardson an emphatic message cheering for the United States star.
"LET’S GO SHA’CARRI! KILL THEM!!!," Reese said.
Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese (5) talks with head coach Teresa Weatherspoon during a time out in the fourth quarter against the New York Liberty at Barclays Center.
While Angel Reese has been quick to credit other athletes, Chicago's young star should be extremely proud of what she's been able to accomplish in her short time as a professional.
She's currently averaging 13.5 points and 11.9 rebounds per game. The first-year star joined Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark at the 2024 WNBA All-Star game as the only rookies to be selected onto the roster.
The talented forward, currently ranked No. 2 in the WNBA in terms of average rebounds, will look to continue her reign when the season resumes later this month.
Reese and the Sky will host the Phoenix Mercury on Aug. 15 at 8 p.m. ET for their first game back from the Olympic Games.
