Simone Biles’ Coach Describes Her With One Unexpected Word

Everyone watching the 2024 Olympics has seen the greatness of Simone Biles. But in the eyes of experts, how good is she, really? Well, Biles' coaches, Cecile and Laurent Landi, had the perfect way to say it.
In a previous interview with Alex Cooper in her Call Her Daddy podcast, the Landis had nothing but praise for the 27-year-old gymnast. When Cooper asked just how much better Biles is compared to other athletes, the husband-and-wife duo didn't hold back and described Biles in the way they see it.
Laurent's comment on Biles particularly stood out, as he described her as an "alien."
"In the world of gymnastics, she's an alien. Let's put it this way," Laurent shared without hesitation. The Landis have been coaching Biles since 2017.
Simone Biles competes on the floor during the U.S. Olympic Team Gymnastics Trials at Target Center on June 28, 2024.
Prior to that comment, Cecile explained in more detail what makes Biles so different. She emphasized that the most decorated gymnast in American history is simply "beyond everybody else."
"The skill she can do in training, and what she allows herself to compete are pretty amazing and high--higher than a lot of people. She has five skills now under her name? And they're not easy skill," Cecile furthered.
Entering Monday's balance beam and floor exercise finals, Simone Biles has already won three gold medals in this year's Games. After leading the USA to the gold in the team all-around final, she also bagged the top prizes for the individual women's all-around and vault events.
