The Super Bowl halftime show has been graced by some of the most iconic musical acts of all time throughout its existence, including Michael Jackson, Prince, Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, and more recent stars such as Beyonce, The Weeknd, Rihanna, Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga and many more.

However, Taylor Swift, arguably the world's biggest popstar of this generation has yet to perform in the big stage.

Fox Sports sportscasters Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson revealed on the latest episode of their podcast Calm Down with Erin and Charissa that they urged NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to have the 14-time Grammy Award winner perform in the upcoming Super Bowl LIX (59).

The two asked the 65-year-old league executive about the matter during a recent Fox NFL and college football seminar.

“For you Swifties and for you non-Swifties. Charissa and I did the best we could about delivering our opening and closing remarks about why the NFL has to have, this year, Taylor Swift as their Super Bowl halftime show,” Andrews said.

Swift performing at the next Super Bowl would also boost Fox's ratings, as they hold the rights to air Super Bowl LIX on February 9, 2025.

NFL viewership and merchandise sales spiked after "The Eras Tour" headliner's relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce became public in late 2023.

Taylor Swift's Previously Rejected Performing In The Super Bowl

Swift has reportedly declined to perform in the Super Bowl halftime show multiple times in the past, allegedly due to the segment being sponsored by Pepsi , a rival brand of Coca-Cola, with which the "Cruel Summer" singer has an endorsement deal.

Starting with February 2023's Super Bowl LVII, the halftime show sponsor switched to Apple Music , paving the way for the possibility of Swift performing in the show.

Swift couldn't perform in the recently held Super Bowl LVIII due to logistical reasons, as she was in the middle of her ongoing The Eras Tour. However, she attended the game to support her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, as the Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers in overtime, 25-22.

Despite being popular enough not to need the added exposure that performing at the Super Bowl halftime show brings, Thompson argued that it would be a significant achievement for Swift to check off her resume.

“But this is what we were talking about, Michael Jackson didn’t need to do the halftime Super Bowl performance, but he did. Whitney Houston didn’t need to sing the national anthem, but she did. Taylor, if you’re listening, your resume is full of everything. You have done it all, but don’t you want to also say that you have performed at a Super Bowl halftime?”
