Scottie Scheffler's net worth was a hot topic following his Olympic gold victory on Sunday over England's Tommy Fleetwood and Japan's Hideki Matsuyama.
With his first Olympic gold medal, Scheffler added to his nearly $28 million earnings in the 2024 PGA Tour season, hauling in $37,500 for the United States gold medal.
According to the Paris Olympics player guide , Scheffler's net worth is estimated to be around $50 million, while some sites believe it could be around $90 million.
The PGA's No. 1 ranked golfer began his million-dollar earnings during the 2019-20 season when he won $2,833,438 in 23 events.
Scheffler's earnings have never decreased following that year, picking up over $14 million in the 2021-22 season and over $21 million in the entirety of the 2022-23 season.
During the final round of his individual Olympic event, Scheffler began the day four shots behind Xander Schauffele and Jon Rahm. He made six birdies in the back nine to end the day, shooting nine-under, 62.
"I hit some really nice putts, and really I was trying to do anything I could do to make some birdies," Scheffler said. "I was fortunate to be able to get it done."
The United States golfer was emotional after the victory , breaking down into tears when America's "The Star-Spangled Banner" was playing, despite attracting his lowest purse in 2024.
The 28-year-old has won the Masters Tournament, the Arnold Palmer Invitational, the RBC Heritage, the Travelers Championship, the Memorial Tournament, and the PLAYERS Championship during the 2024 PGA Tour season.
