The wide receivers at Buffalo Bills training camp have been making plenty of headlines. Rookie Keon Coleman is wowing on a daily basis , and veteran Curtis Samuel looks to be a crucial element of the offense.
Further down the depth chart, there are a handful of wide receivers fighting for a roster spot. One of them is veteran Mack Hollins, who had the perfect sign made in his honor at camp.
Mack Hollins was hyped to see the incredible sign
Hollins spotted an absolutely incredible sign at training camp practice on Sunday. Not only did it include a terrific pun in "Ready to defeet," alluding to Hollins' affinity for training (and walking around camp) barefoot, but it also was complete with yard hair and a shredded shirt.
Just flawless.
To make it more spectacular, Hollins was wearing his iconic ripped shirt and walking barefoot as he saw the sign. It just doesn't get better.
"This is a proper sign, in case anybody wants to know! This is how you come to training camp practice, right here. This? This is how you do it, just in case any of you need any ideas. This is amazing," Hollins yelled across the crowd as he saw the sign.
Hollins then introduced himself to the woman that created it, signed it for her, and posed for pictures. Hollins is clearly becoming a fan favorite throughout the preseason process.
Hollins has an opportunity to earn a roster spot
The top three wide receivers for the coming season are locked in with Coleman, Samuel, and Shakir. After that, it's a true camp competition to fill out the remaining spots. Last season, the Bills carried six wide receivers on their 53-man roster, so assuming they have the same plan for this year, there are three spots up for grabs. The receivers competing for those three spots include:
- Mack Hollins
- Tyrell Shavers
- Justin Shorter
- KJ Hamler
- Chase Claypool
- Andy Isabella
- Marquez Valdes-Scantling
Hollins is firmly in the conversation, and with a promising training camp that has included positive comments from Josh Allen and others, he could be on his way to securing a depth spot on the Bills roster come opening day.
