Zac Efron broke his silence two days after being rushed to the hospital following a “minor swimming incident” in Spain.

Last Friday, Efron’s publicist confirmed to People that the Baywatch star was taken to a hospital in Ibiza after suffering a “minor swimming incident” at his rented villa. The actor was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure and was released on Saturday morning.

“He is fine,” his representative told the outlet.

On Sunday, Efron offered his own update for fans after the frightening episode. “Happy and healthy,” Efron captioned an Instagram Story which showed him lifting two weights as he lay across an exercise ball. “Thanks for the well wishes,” he added.

Precise details of Efron’s “swimming incident” haven’t been disclosed. TMZ , the first to report the news, claimed that “sources with direct knowledge” told them Efron “was found inside the swimming pool by two people working at the villa who pulled him out of the water.”

Just a few days before he was hospitalized, Efron made a surprise appearance during DJ Martin Garrix’s set at Ibiza’s Ushuaïa Ibiza Hotel and Beach Club. During the last month, he’s also been photographed in St. Tropez, Mykonos, and Paris.

Efron is taking a much-deserved vacation after a busy year in the spotlight. He’s starred in three movies in the last eight months— wrestling drama The Iron Claw , as well as comedies Ricky Stanicky and A Family Affair . He’ll next be seen on screens in a remake of Three Men and a Baby , which is currently in pre-production.
