Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR), Wyoming has revealed their targeted opening and closing dates for the Winter '24/'25 season, conditions dependent, of course.

The resort will open on November 29, 2024 and close on April 13, 2025 for a total of 137 days of skiing and riding. POWDER's Ian Greenwood explained how JHMR selects its opening and closing dates in a recent Feature article .

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort CEO Mary Kate Buckley added to the press release, “We will continue to manage capacity on the mountain by restricting the number of tickets sold per day. We initiated this practice in 2020 to improve the guest experience and offer more time on the slopes. Managing capacity has been extremely well received by our guests and employees."

JHMR has been working this summer to replace the aging Sublette Lift with a brand-spanking new high-speed detachable quad from Leitner-Poma. The new lift will slash the ride time in half from eight to four minutes. Buckley confirmed that the lift will open during the Winter '24/'25 season.

POWDER isn't in the business of handing out free advertisements, but JHMR's recently-announced $500 Air Credit feels too good not to mention. Guests who book a roundtrip flight, lodging, and a qualifying activity (lift ticket, activity, or rental car) can receive up to $500 off their airfare, but you must book before September 30th, 2024 through JHMR's booking widget for the discount to be applied.

Last season was filled with ups and down at JHMR. November started off warm and dry, but the snow began to fall just in time for POWDER to visit for the resort's first ever Jeans Ski Weekend . Over 3,000 skiers rocked denim to the set the world-record for most skiers in jeans. It was a blast.

Snowfall continued to ebb and flow throughout January, but the iconic Kings & Queens of Corbet's Couloir competition had to be cancelled due to a shallow snow base. The tides turned at the end of February when nearly 100 inches of snow fell across a ten day period that began on February 27th. The storm was highlighted by a historic 30 inch dump on March 2nd, 2024.

El Niño dominated the weather pattern last season, but could La Niña or La Nada be more favorable for JHMR this upcoming season? Keep it here at POWDER Magazine to stay in the know.
