An outraged Walmart customer has vowed never to shop there again after slamming the retail giant for a new policy .

The furious consumer slammed the customer service they experienced on a recent visit as they ranted on social media about how they won't be back. Mitch Hastings took to Facebook following a visit to his local store where he made others aware of why he's had enough of Walmart.

Mitch wrote: "This will be my last Walmart trip. Apparently, weekday mornings are now down to self-checkout only . No cashier working. So I just spent 30 mins checking out $400 of groceries with the machine showing error every other item while an associate stood behind me to scan in every time."

Continuing to vent his frustration over the self-checkout policy he added: "Had to ask her to watch my cart so I could go to the front of the store to get an empty cart to put my bags in. Then on the way out someone sitting at the entrance tried to stop me to see my receipt, 'no thanks' and kept walking."

ALL THE LATEST ENTERTAINMENT, CULTURE AND CRAIC

Mitch concluded by saying he felt ridiculed by the negative shopping experience . He said: "At this point, they are just mocking us as consumers." The move to self-checkouts has become commonplace for retailers in recent years, with company executives saying it helps to speed up the payment process.

However, many feel the opposite to be true and have complained that it makes checking out a more time-consuming and complicated experience. Many commented on the post as they shared their own thoughts.

One wrote: "This is why I don't go to Walmart anymore, especially getting groceries," with a second adding "I haven't shopped at Walmart since 2019." A third shared: "I used to do all my shopping at Walmart with all 4 kids. The self-checkout got to be way too much for me."

Meanwhile, other customers of Walmart have been venting their frustration at another policy at the checkout after some stores have begun asking their customers to only purchase 15 items or less at the self-checkout in a bid to combat shoplifting. Rivals Target have also implemented a similar change with them asking customers to stick to 10 items or less.

Customers have also lashed out at receipt checks in the store, which were also introduced to help stop theft . One frustrated customer commented: "All they do is take your receipt and mark it with a sharpie. They don't check your bags to make sure it matches your purchases, so it is absolutely no deterrent or solution to shoplifting."

Another asked: "Why not just make self-checkout maybe 35 items or less?" A third quipped: "I spend $500.00 plus per month at Walmart, but not anymore." Another social media user vented about the changes as they scathed: "What sense does it make to change the self-checkout lanes to 15 items or less BUT then only have 2-3 registers open?! MAKE IT MAKE SENSE."
