Tottenham Hotspur are making strides in their pursuit of Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke.

The club sees Solanke as a key addition to their attack, but there is still much work to be done to finalize the deal.

    Solanke high on Tottenham wishlist

Dominic Solanke, 26, is high on Tottenham’s list of striker targets, with head coach Ange Postecoglou identifying him as a perfect fit for his system.

The former Chelsea and Liverpool player impressed last season, scoring 21 goals in all competitions for Bournemouth. His performances nearly earned him a spot in England’s squad for the European Championships.

However, Solanke has a hefty buy-out clause in his Bournemouth contract, believed to be around £65 million ($82.9m). This high price tag has deterred clubs from making a move.

Tottenham are exploring ways to negotiate a deal by offering Bournemouth favorable payment terms to bypass the clause.

Postecoglou focused on strengthening Tottenham’s attack

Postecoglou is eager to add a reliable striker to his squad, which would allow Heung-min Son to move back to his preferred position on the left wing.

Son, who top-scored for Spurs last season with 17 goals, played most of the season as a central striker. Adding Solanke would provide Tottenham with more flexibility and firepower up front.

Richarlison, another attacking option for Spurs, scored 11 league goals last season but struggled with injuries. The Brazilian is also attracting interest from Saudi Arabian clubs, which could further motivate Tottenham to secure Solanke’s services.

Solanke’s impressive form and his desire for another shot at a top Premier League club make him an appealing target. Although Chelsea, his former club, have shown interest in re-signing him, they have been put off by Bournemouth’s valuation.
