Pet Parents Have Sweetest 'Rules' For Their Beloved Black Labrador

There are a few basic rules that most pet parents have for their dogs. No going potty in the house, no stealing food off of the table, try not to bark every time the Amazon Prime truck pulls up to make a delivery because it happens several times a week, every week, and somehow, it's always during the toddler's naptime (okay, that last one might just be me). But then, there are the more specific rules for each individual dog — not for them to follow, but the ones that you, as their loyal human, must know to keep them happy.

For my dog, it means keeping a bed in every room of the house, because she hates to be alone but loves to be comfortable. It means that if you're making steak, you'd better give her at least a couple of pieces, or you are at risk of receiving the cutest guilt trip ever. And now, one dog's parents are sharing his rules (and yes, they are all adorable).

Recently, @tuesdayswithmorrie shared the rules that only exist in their household because of their Black Labrador , Morrie, and after reading them, I have to admit that they all sound pretty reasonable!

These rules are all dedicated to keeping Morrie as happy and comfy as he can possibly be at every minute of the day, and honestly, that's a very noble mission. They range from making sure he always has his "emotional support carrot" — a dog toy that looks like a carrot, of course — and paying the "scratch tax" anytime you're near him. You know, the most important stuff.

Another rule that's included, which I believe would be the easiest for anyone in Morrie's life to follow: "you have to be excited to see him, whether it's been five minutes or five hours."

    Simple enough!

More About Morrie's Emotional Support Carrot

Since the carrot seemed to be what was getting a lot of attention in this video, Morrie's parents made a totally separate video to explain exactly what it is.

From what I can tell in this video, it appears that Morrie's carrot is like a dog version of a pacifier — he likes to have it with him all the time, and he wants to sleep with it in his mouth. This sweet baby!

He also has more than one carrot, so if he's in need of a little extra comfort, he can have it.

And in case anyone was worried, his parents do wash it regularly. Everything's on the up and up with the carrot.

Morrie deserves the world, so his parents better be following every last one of his rules — and protecting that carrot with their lives!
