She added: "I was not doing research as a teenager, I wasn't TRYING to learn or understand. I was talking [sic] the words out of grown white mens mouths that I saw on TV and accepting them as truth."

Her comments come after she addressed the posts in a three-minute and 40-second response video where she branded her own words "disgusting." The Cancelled podcast co-host admitted that she was looking up to her less-than progressive family growing up without critically thinking about the opinions they espoused.

Nonetheless, she said that she "should have known better," adding: "Sometimes you have these people that you put on a pedestal and you think everyone older than you is smarter than you and knows everything and they do not."

The star she stressed that she's grown immensely since her remarks. "I am 27 years old now and I've had so much time to learn and grow and formulate my own opinions and they are nothing like they were when I was 17, 18 years old," she said. Brooke added: "Obviously I know there are some people who are not going to care for me anymore and I understand that. I need you to know this is not how I think and that is not what I believe, she said."
