Talk about picking up your bats and going home.

Gary Sheffield’s son, Jaden, earned an ejection in a New England Collegiate Baseball League game on July 28 and then had to be restrained before picking up his bats and go to the parking lot as the umpire stared him down.

The broadcasters speculated that Sheffield would have to wait for the game to end in the team bus.

The scene unfolded after Sheffield, who has sparingly played for Georgetown , struck out on a 1-2 curveball with a man on and his team trailing the Valley Blue Sox by one run in the sixth inning.

While the strikeout seemed like a solid call, the first pitch of the at-bat saw Sheffield try to pull a bunt attempt back and the umpire rule he had done so too late, resulting in a strike.

Right after the punch-out, Sheffield immediately turned to the umpire and looked at him in disbelief while raising his right hand to show his frustration.

Sheffield walked away but made the fatal mistake of continuing to yap, which earned him the boot.

The Tampa native took a few more steps toward the dugout before pivoting and walking back to the umpire, with his bat in his hand, to argue.

Another umpire and some teammates and coaches stepped in to prevent any escalation while an obscenely annoying announcer screamed in the background, “That’s another strikeout.”

The game then paused while Sheffield collected his bats to leave, with the ESPN broadcast showing the umpire staring down the Danbury bench area.

Sheffield walked across the field while still getting in some final words, before exiting the field and then being shown walking through the parking lot.

    Valley ultimately won, 13-5.

Sheffield, an outfielder like his father, finished 0-for-3 in the game and hit just .216 with 25 strikeouts in 74 at-bats in the league this summer.

Jaden’s father, Gary, missed the cut for the Hall of Fame this year despite a prodigious career that featured 509 home runs spanning eight teams, including the Yankees and Mets.
