Noah Lyles exuded confidence leading up to the men's 100-meter final in Paris, and showed the world exactly why on Sunday by winning in a photo finish .

Lyles was fired up when he was introduced at Stade de France, trying to energize the crowd as he ran out onto the track, but those few moments after he and Kishane Thompson crossed the finish line at nearly the same time silenced the American star.

As soon as Lyles was declared the winner, he quickly ran to the crowd to share an emotional embrace with his mother and girlfriend. As it turns out, his girlfriend knows all about what it's like to stand on an Olympic podium.

Here's what you need to know about Lyles' girlfriend and their relationship timeline.

    Who is Noah Lyles' girlfriend?

Lyles is in a relationship with Jamaican athlete Junelle Bromfield.

Bromfield has made her name in the 4x400m relay, winning bronze as part of Jamaica's relay team at the 2020 Olympics and taking silver as part of Jamaica's team at the 2022 World Championships. Jamaica also won 4x400m gold with Bromfield at the World Indoor Championships in 2022.

Bromfield isn't just in Paris to watch Lyles compete. She's again part of Jamaica's 4x400m relay team and is scheduled to compete in the first round on Friday, Aug. 9. Should Jamaica advance to the final, Bromfield will run again on Saturday.

Not only is Bromfield competing in the relay, but she is also hoping to advance in the 400-meter as well. Bromfield earned a spot in the repechage round by running a 51.36 in the first round on Monday.

Bromfield was born and raised in Jamaica, attending college in Kingston as she launched her track and field career.

The celebration was on as soon as Lyles won the 100-meter, as he quickly embraced Bromfield in the crowd after reuniting with his mother. Bromfield posted the image of herself and Lyles celebrating on Instagram after the win, with the caption, "The double is alive."

The double is indeed alive for Lyles, as he has a serious chance to leave Paris with two gold medals once he runs the 200-meter. Bromfield could very well leave Paris with a medal of her own.

    Noah Lyles-Junelle Bromfield relationship timeline

Lyles and Bromfield first met in 2017 through social media and actually went on a date that didn't lead to a relationship. The pair reconnected in 2022 and started a relationship by the end of the year.

Lyles was first pictured with Bromfield on the red carpet in December 2022, but Bromfield revealed after Sunday's race that Monday is their two-year anniversary.

The two have been exceptionally supportive of each other on social media ever since they first went public. Lyles revealed on the "Fast Lane Lifestyle" podcast in July that he is "very serious" whenever he gets into a relationship and plans to "grow old" with Bromfield.

By the time they started dating, Lyles and Bromfield were both Olympic medalists. Bromfield won bronze in the 4x400m relay in Tokyo, while Lyles won bronze in the 200-meter. Both had to balance their relationship with the training regiment required to be at the very top of the sport.

Lyles' hard work paid off, as he took the unofficial title of "fastest man in the world" by narrowly winning the 100-meter final in Paris, and he is favored to win the 200-meter as well later in the week. Bromfield, meanwhile, got herself another Olympic bid and is aiming for another trip to the podium on Saturday.
