Simone Biles Drops Emotional Message After Historic Olympic Run

It's official. Simone Biles' third and potentially final Olympic run has come to an end.

The 27-year-old ended her Paris stint with one additional medal on Monday. She placed second in the floor final behind Brazil's Rebeca Andrade for Biles' fourth medal in the 2024 Olympics. This is after she failed to reach the podium in the balance beam final earlier in the day, finishing fifth in the competition.

In her final post-competition press conference, Biles could not help but get a little bit emotional as she reflected on what was another historic run for her.

"I've accomplished way more than in my wildest dreams ," Biles told a packed press conference room, via Nick McCarvel of Olympics.com. "Not just at this Olympics, but in the sport."

"A couple years ago, I didn't think I'd be back here at an Olympic Games," she continued. "So competing and then walking away with four medals... I'm not mad about it. I'm pretty proud of myself."

Now with 11 Summer Games medals under her belt, Biles has become the most decorated U.S. gymnast in Olympic history.

Naturally, Biles had to flex all four of her medals in a fitting Instagram post, which also carried a similar message to what she said in the press conference.

"more than my wildest dreams 🥹" she wrote.

Biles' first gold medal in the Olympics came during the team all-around final. She also finished first in the all-around and the vault finals.

The gymnastics icon has already hinted that she could return for the 2028 Games in Los Angeles, but even if she opts not to, there's no denying that this would be an epic way to end her iconic Olympic career.
