Brandon Aiyuk Trade Buzz Gets Intriguing Development

The San Francisco 49ers and wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk appear to be at a contract stalemate . With the 2024 NFL campaign a month away, the clock is ticking to either trade Aiyuk or give him the money he is asking for.

However, those talks got another shot in the arm on Monday. Matt Barrows of The Athletic mentioned that multiple teams have expressed interest in an Aiyuk trade , but nothing has come to fruition.

Moreover, Barrows mentioned three AFC teams that have kicked the tires on Aiyuk. Here's what Barrows wrote on Monday afternoon:

"Multiple teams have contacted the San Francisco 49ers with interest in trading for receiver Brandon Aiyuk, but so far nothing has been agreed to, a league source told The Athletic on Monday. Aiyuk trade talks — a hot topic approaching the draft in April — heated up again recently as the 49ers ended their second week of training camp no closer to a deal with their top receiver. Over the weekend, the Cleveland Browns and New England Patriots were the top suitors, according to multiple reports. On Monday, the Pittsburgh Steelers resurfaced as a possible destination."

But Mike Garafolo and Tom Pelissero of NFL Network mention that he will "likely" be traded before the season begins rather than agreeing to an extension with San Francisco.

The former Arizona State star has put together back-to-back 1,00-yard-plus seasons. In 2023, he had career highs in yards with 1,342 yards while scoring seven touchdowns (second-best in his career).

The Washington Commanders are a team Aiyuk has shown interest in as well, so it could get interesting over the next couple of weeks on the Aiyuk trade front.
