Why this is the preseason College Football Playoff First Round 7 vs 10 Projection
- This all comes down to whether or not Texas can with the early showdown against Michigan in Ann Arbor. Pull that off on September 7th, and all will be fine during a relatively easy run before running into Georgia.
A loss to Texas A&M at the end of the regular season keeps the Longhorns out of the SEC Championship, but they still land the 7 ahead of the Wolverines.
- Penn State goes on a hot run to start the season, but a midseason loss at USC and a home defeat to Ohio State are just enough to get a road game in the College Football Playoff.
Getting in won’t be a problem, but there won’t be enough impressive wins to push past the 10 seed.
- This will get the big primetime slot considering the two big name programs. It might not be balmy in Austin, Texas, but on December 21st it’ll be a whole lot nicer than Happy Valley. This might be the best first round CFP game of the bunch - if it happens, of course.
