The 2024 Olympics in Paris has now completed the group stage in its basketball festivities. Now, bracket play is set to begin on Tuesday, and a couple of Kentucky targets will be participating representing their countries. On one hand, you've got Team USA that includes former Wildcats Anthony Davis, Bam Adebayo, and Devin Booker. Then, there's Team Canada, which features Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jamal Murray, and Trey Lyles.

The other country that has a former Wildcat, South Sudan, did not qualify for the quarterfinals to be among the final eight countries in bracket play competing for a Gold medal. Canada punched their ticket to the quarterfinals with a win over Spain on Friday, before the United States got a victory against Puerto Rico to close group play on Saturday. In their win over Spain, Gilgeous-Alexander gave Canada 20 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal, while Murray added 4 points, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds. In USA's win against Puerto Rico, Davis had 10 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 blocks, while Booker added 9 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists, and Adebayo had 3 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals.

On Tuesday, Canada will begin their quest for Gold in the quarterfinals against Victor Wembanyama and France. That game will begin at Noon ET, and you can watch the action on Peacock. Then, the United States will face off with Brazil at 3:30 p.m. ET on NBC. Canada is seen as one of the biggest threats for the United States' path to Gold.

Could we see a plethora of former Wildcats in the Gold medal finals? We shall see as the quarterfinals begin today in Paris.
