A cute Golden Retriever has strong feelings about the rainy weather, and his hilarious meltdown is really relatable.

On July 30, 2024, social media user Joey How U Doing (@joey_how_u_doinnn) shared a video of Joey, a Golden Retriever who has very strong opinions on the rain. Take a look!

In a short video posted to Instagram, we meet Joey , a Golden Retriever who wants to go for a walk even though it is raining outside.

"One rainy day," the text on the video reads as Joey, the Golden Retriever , finds his mama to tell her it's time for a walk. Mom asks Joey to come closer to her, but he walks away instead.

"You promised me a walk," he said with his very sad dog eyes.

"You don't like the rain," Mom tells Joey and encourages him to look out the windows and see the rain. He saw the raindrops fall and then asked his mom to play with him instead, which she was happy to do.

The two tossed around a stuffy for a while before realizing the rain had stopped.

"Let's go for a walk," his mom says, "go get ready. The rain has stopped."

Joey takes a second to look out the window, and he's not fully convinced it has stopped raining.

"Doesn't look fully dry to me..." the text above Joey's head says. "Does the sky look good to you Ma? I don't know."

The two make their way downstairs and out the doors, and Joey right away isn't thrilled with the fact that while it's not currently raining, the ground is still very wet.

He's walking so slowly, like he's bothered.

"You promised no rain," the text reads. And yet, he had no desire to go for a walk. It wasn't raining anymore, but he wasn't interested. Instead, Joey stopped at the door and opted to lie down. In a hilarious refuse-to-move tantrum that's very relatable, and people in the comment section felt so, too.

    One wrote, "Absolutely Golden."

    Another shared, "Adorable lil guy!!"

Someone else added, "Such dramatic scenes too cute."

One pointed out, "The side eye like nope."

Another joked, "Life with a Golden. So dramatic."

Are Golden Retrievers Known for Being Dramatic?

There are plenty of adorable videos online of Golden Retrievers acting up or acting out in ways that seem larger than whatever the catalyst is. And reading the comments of those videos, you're bound to find a few that explain the dog's behavior for a Golden Retriever " being a Golden " because it's expected.

According to iHeartDogs , some breeds are more known for being drama queens than others, and it's not surprising to see Golden Retrievers on the list.

"Whether they’re throwing a tantrum over a missed walk, making hilarious vocalizations to get their way, or using their expressive faces to convey a range of emotions, these breeds are masters of drama," the site explains.

And guess who is number one on their list? Yes, Golden Retrievers.

The list explains that this breed is known for being "friendly" and for having a "gentle nature and incredibly expressive faces." Their ability to convey their feelings and thoughts with their faces is one of the reasons they're considered "drama queens" because we can see more of their subtly than other breeds that aren't as expressive in their faces.

"Golden Retrievers’ ability to make funny and endearing faces, combined with their loving nature, makes them one of the most beloved breeds," iHeartDogs shares. "Their expressions can bring joy and laughter to any household, making them perfect companions for those who love to smile."

Hopefully, Joey got to rest inside, away from the wet sidewalk and was able to relax a little.
