A LONGTIME Kroger shopper gave up on the store after being overcharged by nearly $100 and getting the wrong items in his order.

One of the biggest perks of shopping at Kroger is grocery delivery.

Shoppers can order all their necessities online and get them delivered straight to their door.

Unfortunately, the service doesn't always go as planned.

Keith said he's been shopping at Kroger for about 25 years, but a grocery order gone awry was the last straw.

"They screwed up my order, overcharged me by nearly $100, and after a morning spent getting bounced around between chatbots and agent, I might get a refund in seven to ten days," he wrote on X.

"I will be taking my business elsewhere...F**k that."

In the replies, other shoppers rallied around Keith, saying refunds should be done "as quickly as they take our money."

    COSTLY MISTAKE

Last year, Kroger customer Kill McCormick ordered groceries through the app as usual.

It was a large haul that cost $282, so she knew it would take a bit of time for the shopper to get everything.

But after a few hours of no communication or notifications, she checked the app to see what had happened.

To her bewilderment, she had been charged $2,783.25.

"My heart stopped because I'm thinking panic mode," she told WCPO in an interview.

The shopper spent $74 on Dawn dish soap, $26.94 on bacon, and $239 on Gain laundry detergent.

To make things worse, the order wasn't even delivered to her.

McCormick didn't know if she should call Kroger or Instacart, which provides same-day deliveries for the retailer.

Kroger shoppers can return items with or without a receipt.

All Kroger Co. Family of Stores can accept returns of items purchased at any location within 30 days of purchase.

    Returns with receipts:

    • Customers can use digital or paper receipts to get a refund
    • The refund will be returned in the same payment method the purchase was made. Either going back on a card or handed back in cash

    Returns without receipts:

"After trying for an hour, trying to get in touch with someone, they were finally able to get in touch with Instacart to cancel the order because they never canceled the order as the shopper originally told me," she said.

Kroger offered her a $20 refund for her troubles but said it would take up to 10 days for a refund.

"They gave me $20 for my $3,000 that was taken out of my account," she said.

The retailer later offered her $250, but it was too little too late.

"I'm looking for a fix and outcome. How about we show results so someone else, another family, is not going through this," she said.

Another shopper was overcharged by $52 and offered a "ridiculous" solution by cashiers.

Kroger was forced to apologize to a customer due to a self-checkout issue.
