You never know what kind of footage your trail camera is going to pick up. Sometimes the recording devices capture unbelievable moments, like a bear fixing the angle of the camera after an elk messed it up. Other times, the trail cam just so happens to be facing in the right direction when something goes terribly wrong for unsuspecting prey.

Or it occasionally triggers and gets one of critical moments to the circle of life – or at least the moments that likely led up to it. This trail camera located in Canada’s Yukon Territory was facing a well-traversed path and caught a playful moment between two big ol’ black bears.

These two appear to be rather young, and one of the bears in the clip is a lighter, almost caramel color. It’s the darker colored bear that seems to be in control of the “messing around” initially, and plays a little bit hard to get after poking and pulling at the caramel colored bear. It gets up and runs off down the trail, only for the lighter-haired bruin to follow closely behind.

The wrestling happened right in front of the camera, and it wasn’t the only thing that was caught on the trail cam. In a period of basically half a day, the trail camera also recorded an elusive lynx walking right by at night, as well as a moose stopping for a moment to “smell the roses.”

David Troup, the person who manages the Yukon Wildlife Cams Facebook page, described the interesting video as follows:

“In just a ten hour window in mid-June, a pair of differently colored black bears playing, or fore playing, a nighttime lynx, and an early morning moose visited this site.”

It was suggested that they could be getting ready to mate, however a number of comments argued that they could also be siblings who haven’t separated yet, and that they were likely too young to mate. So perhaps just another example of sibling rivalry.

    Either way, fantastic footage:
