Delta Pilot Demands Black Passenger Take Off Her Hat In Resurfaced Video

A Delta Airlines pilot is going viral after a resurfaced video showed him demanding a Black passenger remove a hat that had profane language on it.

In the video, originally shared in 2020, the pilot appeared to confront the passenger over her hat, which had the word "F***" on it.

The pilot told the passenger that she needed to keep the cap off her head for the entire flight or she would be at risk of being booted from the plane.

“Please tell me where that’s posted. How could I have known that?” the woman asked the pilot.

“I’m the captain of the airplane; that’s where it’s posted. Delta has guidelines, and I don’t have to explain them to you,” the pilot responded. "You can take it off, or you can leave the airplane. It is inappropriate, and I’m not gonna take vulgar language on the flight,” he adds, referencing a baseball-style cap in the woman’s possession with the word “F***” on it.

“Do you understand?” the pilot reiterates.

“Yeah, I heard you, sir,” the passenger responded.

After the woman took off the hat, the pilot continued to press her on the matter.

“You got it?” the pilot said while pointing his finger at the woman.

“Don’t point your finger at us,” the woman said.

“OK. So which is it? Tell me now,” the captain continued.

“Tell you what? The hat is off. There’s nothing to tell you,” the passenger shot back. “The hat is right here in my lap."

“Tell me it’s off for the entire flight,” the pilot said. “I got six kids, I raised 10 kids, I know better."

“I’m not a child, sir. The hat is in my lap," the woman replied.

The video ended with the two continue to argue over the hat. It's unclear what unfolded after the video.

Social media users had mixed reactions to the incident.

"The captain wont come out just like that, this seems like a bigger problem then just that hat," one social media user said.

“She said OK that should have been it. This captain is on a power trip,” another TikTok user commented.
