Daisy Ridley is opening up about her latest health battle for the first time.

The 32-year-old actress revealed in a new interview with Women's Health that she has been diagnosed with Graves' disease, an immune system condition that affects the thyroid gland.

Ridley, who has previously been diagnosed with endometriosis and polycystic ovaries, shared in the interview published Tuesday, Aug. 6 that she was diagnosed with Graves' disease in 2023, after experiencing a variety of symptoms following the filming of the psychological thriller, Magpie .

"I thought, 'Well, I've just played a really stressful role; presumably that's why I feel poorly,'" she remembered thinking, before eventually seeing an endocrinologist about her symptoms, which included weight loss, fatigue, hand tremors, a racing heart rate and irritability.

"It was funny, I was like, 'Oh, I just thought I was annoyed at the world,' but turns out everything is functioning so quickly [with Graves' disease], you can't chill out."

Since receiving the diagnosis, the Star Wars star said she's focusing much more on being "conscious" of her well-being, which often involves "holistic stuff."

Plus, Ridley also seems to be keeping a positive attitude, despite the various health issues she's dealt with over the years.

"In the grand scheme of things, it’s much less severe than what a lot of people go through," she said, after talking about the frequency of "women being undiagnosed or under-diagnosed."

"Even if you can deal with it, you shouldn’t have to. If there’s a problem, you shouldn’t have to just [suffer through it]," she added.

As part of her new health and fitness regimen, Ridley said she "stays pretty consistent" with her training, but that she now prioritizes "finding the balance" and knowing where her tolerance "really ends."

Recognizing her limits is a skill Ridley recently had to use while filming Young Woman and the Sea , a 2024 drama film about an Olympic swimmer.

"I was just shattered, so I took a few days off training and am now on a 'deload' week," she said, while also highlighting the importance of keeping her mental health in a good place as well.
