I kicked my husband out after his buddy called me a ‘gross, fat turkey’ – we share a son but I’m done with our marriage

A MARRIAGE is on the verge of ending after one man failed to stand up for his wife.

His spouse may never forgive him for how he reacted to his friend calling her “gross” and a “fat turkey.”

Redditor No-experience7433 shared the story in a post on the social media platform.

She explained that she and her husband had gone over to his friend’s house for dinner, saying she had only met him a few times.

Sitting around the table with their 10-month-old son in her lap, her husband shared photos from their wedding , during which she was pregnant.

“I was 37 weeks pregnant and had gained 35 pounds at that point,” she recalled.

“The friend looks at a photo and says, ‘Oh gross what happened to you? Your face is so fat. You look like a fat turkey.'”

She tried to explain what happens to a woman’s body during pregnancy to no avail.

“He wasn’t interested in listening and just went on laughing and repeating similar insults,” she said.

“I looked at my husband and he just laughed along with him.”

Defeated, the wife said she put her son to bed and cried herself to sleep that night.

STOOD UP

The Reddit user explained that she was more upset that her husband didn’t stand up for her than his friend’s words.

“What I needed at that time was only something my husband could provide,” she said.

She insisted that she didn’t want any “violence, yelling, swearing, or name-calling,” but she did want him to defend her.

“I just needed him to say, ‘I thought you looked beautiful on our wedding day, babe.’

“I would have said, ‘Thank you,’ had a laugh, and we would have moved on with our evening.

“I needed to feel like a team, like he had my back. I don’t care about others’ opinions of me, I care about my husband’s.”

OUT OF SIGHT

After not receiving the emotional support she needed from her husband, she decided that more drastic measures were necessary and kicked him out.

“My husband is out of the house and I feel done with my marriage,” she said.

In another update, she said he is currently living at a friend’s house.

“But they have a family so I don’t know how long that will last,” she explained. I do not know his plan. My parents are handling our communication.”

She added that her parents urged her to take a few days to calm down and reflect.

“For the sake of my child I will, but as of now I do not want to continue this marriage,” she said.

Many Redditors sided with her and congratulated her for “standing up for herself” in the comments section.

“I’m done with your marriage, too,” one wrote. “I can’t imagine.”

“I can’t blame you,” another agreed.

“I’m pretty sure my husband would beat someone who said something like that. Which isn’t the best result either but it’s at least for me, vs against me. I would be livid.”
