General Hospital fans slam return of a fan-favorite to 'prop' Sonny as they say he's 'incapable of taking responsibility'

General Hospital brought back a fan-favorite.

Monday's episode left on two cliffhangers and one of them was Sonny on the hospital's roof ledge looking like he was about to jump. He was in the hospital prior waiting to hearing the news about Kristina and the baby with Alexis, Molly, TJ and Jordan.

Kristina, in her grief and anger, after learning from Kristina the baby had died, yelled at Sonny. She blamed Sonny for what happened to Kristina and the baby. Sonny took Molly's words to heart and starting to replay all the moments in which his family had angry words with him.

Sonny, as fans know, is bipolar and hasn't been taking his medicine. To his knowledge he thinks he is taking them but the pills are not right, they are placebo pills.

So far, Ava and her lawyer Scott are the only ones who knows that. Ava claimed to him she didn't mess with his meds. So, Sonny has been acting differently and more manic due to not taking his meds. This has caused him to make more impulsive violent decisions, subsequently pushing his family away. While he was contemplating jumping, his son Morgan popped up and told him not to do it.

Sonny responded that Morgan is not really here and is a hallucination. Morgan died in a car bombing in 2016. Hallucination Morgan was trying to reason with Sonny while Sonny told him that Molly was right saying all he brought was "pain and destruction to everyone."

In the emotionally-charged scene, Sonny throughout their conversation began to blame himself for everything bad that has happened to his children such as Morgan's death, Michael being in a coma, and shooting Dante. Hallucination Morgan firstly let him know that Ava was responsible for his death by changing his meds, calling Sonny blaming himself for that "revisionist history."

He went on to say that Sonny was not perfect but his children knows that he only wanted the best for them. Sonny said that he has "failed his children" and that he's doing the right thing by being on the ledge. Hallucination Morgan let him know that he hasn't failed him and that his grandchildren and children, like Kristina fighting for life, need him.

While fans did love seeing Morgan back and saw the scene as heart wrenching, some were annoyed that Morgan was used to absolve Sonny of his actions. They of course did not want Sonny to jump but for Morgan not to be use as a 'prop' for Sonny's crimes. They wanted his actions to be acknowledged and not excused.

A fan said: " Morgan being wasted to prop Sonny. Sad." Another said: "Dear #gh There's no harm in Sonny's family pushing him to go to therapy. It's disgusting that you had to use Morgan to absolve him."

The episode ended with Sonny going to Kevin's office declaring that he needed help and that something was wrong with him.
